DU's Bosworth and Gauthier recognized with GLIAC women's soccer player of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 8 action of the 2023 women's soccer season. Davenport Panthers earned both awards, as freshman midfielder/forward Olivia Bosworth was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore goalkeeper Bailey Gauthier was honored as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Bosworth, Davenport

Olivia Bosworth came up big for the Davenport University women’s soccer team that finished Week Eight undefeated in matchups against Ferris State (1-1) and Saginaw Valley (4-0). In the match against SVSU, Bosworth led the way for the Panthers for a career day, scoring two goals on a perfect shot percentage to add to DU’s big victory on the road.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Bailey Gauthier, Davenport

Bailey Gauthier was another key factor over the weekend, seeing her first action of the season by starting and playing all 90 minutes against the Bulldogs and recording three saves to mark the regular season series at 0-0-2. In the following match against the Cardinals, Gauthier recorded her first shutout victory of her career in the match with five saves total as the Panthers swept the season series against SVSU, 2-0.
