GLIAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 3

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the third weekend of the new regular season. Saginaw Valley State senior forward Matt Wilson earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Tiffin freshman defender Limamu Mohammed claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Matt Wilson, Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley State junior forward Matt Wilson had a stellar week for SVSU, totaling four goals and three assists in leading the Cardinals to a 2-1 record. He had an assist in all three matches and scored two-apiece in the team's victories over Ohio Dominican (5-1) and Ashland (6-0). Wilson is currently tied for the league lead with five goals and leads the GLIAC in assists (4) and points (14).


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Limamu Mohammed, Tiffin

Tiffin freshman defender Limamu Mohammed led TU in their 2-0 week, pitching two shutouts in a 1-0 win over No. 11 Northwood and a 4-0 win at Findlay. The Dragons defense was stifling, allowing only two shots on goal for the week, including no shots on goal during the Findlay game. They also allowed only one corner kick in the game.
