ODU's Kasprzak, WU's Jackson Named GLIAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the final weekend of the regular season. Ohio Dominican sophomore forward Ryan Kasprzak earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Walsh sophomore goalkeeper Tom Jackson claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Ryan Kasprzak, Ohio Dominican

Ohio Dominican sophomore forward Ryan Kasprzak scored one goal against Lake Erie and Wednesday and recorded two goals in Ohio Dominican's 3-0 victory against Findlay on Sunday. Kasprzak tallied at least one point in all three of ODU's matches this week, including assists against Tiffin and Findlay. Kasprzak finished the 2016 season tied for third in goals scored in the GLIAC (11) and has scored 16 goals thus far in his Panther career. 


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Tom Jackson, Walsh

Walsh sophomore goalkeeper Tom Jackson helped Walsh record two decisions with a pair of shutouts in last week's contests. Jackson faced 36 shots between the two games with 15 saves. He made eight in a 1-0 shutout of Ashland and followed up with seven in Sunday's season finale 0-0 draw with Lake Erie.
