MIDLAND, MICH. – Cody Kuzniczci (Madeira, Ohio / Northern Kentucky U.), who recently completed his collegiate baseball career at Northwood University, has signed a contract with the Quebec Capitales of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball (CanAm League).

Kuzniczci got the start at catcher Tuesday (May 31) for the Capitales, who have won the league four of the last six seasons.  Eleven alumni of the CanAm League have reached Major League Baseball in the last 10 seasons.

In his lone season at Northwood, Kuzniczci was a force for the Timberwolves. He led the team in batting average (.363), slugging percentage (.549), runs scored (46), hits (70), doubles (18), home runs (six) and total bases (106). Kuzniczci finished ranked on the all-time single-season Northwood list in the following categories: hits – second, doubles – second, extra base hits – five, and total bases (third).

Northwood finished the season 25-24 overall.
