GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its fourth GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards of the 2018 season. This week McKendree junior attacker Emily Nelson earned GLIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week accolades, while Davenport junior goalkeeper Alex Yates earned GLIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.

McKendree junior attacker Emily Nelson recorded 14 points last week in two games for McKendree. She led the Bearcats with five goals and four assists in a GLIAC win against Davenport on Friday night. Nelson also picked up eight ground balls.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Alex Yates, Davenport

While the offense for Davenport was held to 15 goals over two conference games, junior Alex Yates gave the Panthers the opportunity to win with her solid play in net. Yates faced 68 shots on goal over two games against McKendree and Indianapolis, and she saved 28 of those (41.2%).
