NMU's Burmeister, FSU's Holowaty Claim GLIAC Athlete of the Week Recognition

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after Week 2 of the 2017 cross country season. Northern Michigan senior Kameron Burmeister captured GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors on the women's side, while Ferris State senior Trevor Holowaty garnered the men's award.


WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Kameron Burmeister, Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan senior Kameron Burmeister was the top NCAA Division II finisher at the UWP Godfrey Cross Country Open, finishing fourth overall with a time of 17 minutes, 55.8 seconds. Burmesiter's efforts helped lead the Wildcats to a second-place team finish, defeating a trio of NCAA I programs. 


MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Trevor Holowaty, Ferris State

Ferris State senior Trevor Holowaty emerged as the individual champion in a time of 25:26.4 overall at the 2017 Ray Helsing Bulldog Invitational on Saturday at Ferris State's Katke Golf Course. The Bulldogs had four individuals finish among the top 10 overall.
