INDIANAPOLIS -- Four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball teams appeared in the second NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings released on Wednesday (Feb. 25).
The GLIAC Champion Lake Superior State Lakers jumped up one spot to the No. 4 spot, while Michigan Tech moved up a couple spots into the No. 5 position. Ferris State entered the rankings after a victory over Saginaw Valley and into the No. 8 spot, while SVSU fell back to No. 9 after a pair of losses last week. The top eight teams in the final region rankings will earn bids to the NCAA Tournament beginning Friday, March 13.
The Midwest Region includes schools from the GLIAC, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). The GLVC holds six of the ten regional ranking positions, with the GLIAC owning the remaining four.
