GLIAC Announces Spring 2010 All-Academic TeamsJune 21, 2010Bay City, Mich.--The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced today the Spring 2010 All-Academic Teams. 596 student-athletes from 12 institutions were honored in the following sports;baseball, softball, men's tennis, men and women's golf and men and women's outdoor track and field. To be eligible for all-academic status, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first year transfer.

Ashland Finishes Sixth at NCAA D-II Men's Outdoor Track & Field ChampionshipsMay 29, 2010Charlotte, N.C. - The Ashland University mens track and field team finished the 2010 NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships tied for sixth in the country. This years national championship meet concluded on Saturday night (May 29) after storms in Charlotte, NC, forced officials to re-work the meet schedule. Much of Fridays schedule was pushed to Saturday due to the inclement weather.

Outdoor Track and Field Teams Set to Participate at NCAA DII National Championships May 27-29May 19, 2010INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division II Mens and Womens Track and Field Committee has announced the participants for the 2010 NCAA Division II Mens and Womens Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Student-athletes qualified for the championships by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event. The championships will be held May 27-29 in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Irwin Belk Complex. Johnson C. Smith University will serve as host of the championships.
