BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the seventh week of the 2016 cross country season prior to the 2016 GLIAC Cross Country Championships. Findlay junior Taylor Bolinger captured GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors on the women's side, while Findlay sophomore Jonathan Allen garnered the men's weekly award following their performances at the Wilmington #JennaStrong Classic.
WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Taylor Bolinger, Findlay
Findlay junior Taylor Bolinger raced to a 5:52.3 average mile to eventually finish with a time of 18:15.8, the second fastest time in school history. She finished in eighth place of 366 competitors.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Jonathan Allen, Findlay
Findlay sophomore Jonathan Allen averaged 5:01.6 minutes per mile on his way to a second place finish of 395 competitors with a time of 24:59.01, the fourth fastest 8K time in school history.
