WOMEN'S RANKINGS – Grand Valley State and Adams State held down the top two spots in the poll, although the Grizzlies stole a first-place vote from the Lakers after GVSU owned seven of the eight in the preseason rankings.
Grand Valley State scored a victory at the Calvin College Knight Invitational and were led by third-place finisher Theresa Mueller. Northern Michigan sits No. 13 after an impressive showing against D1 competition, finishing only behind Marquette at the Wisconsin-Parkside Godfrey Cross Country Open. Senior Kameron Burmeister paced the wildcats with a fourth-place finish overall in the field of 163 runners and the time top amongst DII competitors.
MEN'S RANKINGS – Grand Valley State ranks second as the Lakers return three top-50 finishers from a runner-up performance at the national meet a year ago in Zach Panning, Trevor Sharnas and Wuoi Mach.
Saginaw Valley State is ranked No. 8 with the guidance of Austen Mandernach and Branden Bohling leading the Cardinals, while Thomas Kean also has been an excellent contributor.
