GLIAC Football Players of the Week - Week 11

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its weekly awards following Week 11 action. Findlay sophomore quarterback Rhys Gervais earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Ohio Dominican redshirt senior defensive back Brad McCurdy garnered GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week distinction. Michigan Tech sophomore fullback and kick returner James Henderson captured GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.

Offense
Rhys Gervais Findlay QB So.
Highlights: Gervais led the Oilers to a 45-42 win over Northern Michigan on Nov. 14 with 372 passing yards and five touchdowns. Gervais also rushed for 35 yards, accounting for 407 of the Oilers 534 total yards in the contest. His five touchdowns also tied his own school record for most touchdowns in a game. Gervais ended his sophomore campaign with school records for completions in a season (228), passing attempts in a season (362), passing yards in a season (3,353), total offense in a season (3,439) and passing touchdowns in a season (33).
Defense
Brad McCurdy

Highlights: McCurdy led a Panther defensive effort that held the GLIAC's No. 1 ranked passing attack to 138 yards. Tiffin had averaged 308 passing yards per game entering Saturday. Tiffin scored a touchdown on its first drive and did not score the rest of the game. McCurdy made nine tackles and forced a fumble. McCurdy held Tiffin to just 3-of-13 on third downs and only one first down in the second half. McCurdy finished his career with 270 tackles, third most in ODU history, and 12 interceptions, the most in ODU history.
Special Teams

Highlights: Totaled 201 yards of all-purpose offense with 146 yards in kickoff returns and 55 yards rushing. Had a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to break the game open in the second quarter. Averaged 36.5 yards on four kickoff returns in the game.
