NU's Crovasce, PNW's  Galvez Earn GLIAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the second week of the spring 2021 Men's Soccer season. Northwood sophomore Amedeo Crovasce earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while Purdue Northwest junior Edin Galvez claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Amedeo Crovasce - Northwood 

Amedeo Crovasce had a hand in all three goals in Northwood's 3-2 win at Upper Iowa Sunday. He scored two goals in the first half then assisted on the game-winner in the second half. Crovasce had 11 shots in the game and also converted a PK in the win.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Edin Galvez - Purdue Northwest

Purdue Northwest's Edin Galvez has been named GLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Galvez, a junior from Berwyn, Ill., led the PNW back line from his centerback position in a 2-0 victory over Ashland. Galvez played the full 90 minutes, organizing the defense, producing great challenges and was strong in the air defensively. He also recorded one shot on goal. PNW's win was the only clean sheet in conference games played last weekend.
