INDIANAPOLIS -- The same five schools from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) were once again inside the top 10 of the second NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Midwest Regional Rankings released on Wednesday (March 4). The GLIAC Champion Michigan Tech Huskies stayed at No. 2 team in the region with a record of 23-2 and No. 9 in the country heading into the conference tournament.
Wayne State, nationally ranked at No. 16, remained in the No. 4 position while Ashland, Grand Valley State and Northern Michigan all remained concrete in the 7-8-9 spots for the third consecutive week. The top eight teams in the final region rankings will earn bids to the NCAA Tournament beginning Friday, March 13.
