GVSU's Krueger and Stoll earn golfer of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its first weekly men's and women's golf awards of the 2023 spring season. Grand Valley State swept the honors with sophomore Nick Krueger receiving men's golfer of the week honors and sophomore Olivia Stoll earning women's golfer of the week honors.


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Nick Krueger, Grand Valley State

For the second time in his career, Nick Krueger was named GLIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week. Krueger helped lead the Lakers to a win at the Buccaneer Spring Classic on March 5th and 6th, as he placed fourth. Krueger finished the tournament in a tie for fourth place after carding a three-round score of 212 (-4). In the first round, Krueger tallied five birdies for a round of 70 (-2), he then followed that up with a four birdie round of 73 (+1), and capped off the tournament with another round with four birdies, as he shot a final round of 69 (-3).


WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Olivia Stoll, Grand Valley State

Olivia Stoll earned her first career GLIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week award after claiming an individual win and leading the Lakers to the tournament win at the Augustana Spring Fling over March 9th and 10th. Stoll shot even par for the tournament, winning by three strokes over the two rounds. Stoll shot a first round score of 74 (+2), carding three birdies. On the second day, she recorded four birdies, and shot a round of 70 (-2). This was the second win of the season for Stoll, as she previously won the William Beall Fall Classic back in October.
