Corby claimed the Ron Lentz National Player of the Year award and is just the second  Laker player to do so (Katy Tafler, 2006-2007). Corby led the nation with 17 assists and nine game winning goals, including the winner in the national title game. She finished third in Division II with 25 goals and was second in points (67).

The Ron Lentz National Player of the Year award is named for long-time South Dakota State sports information director Ron Lentz in 2008. Lentz was instrumental in the foundation of the NCAA Division II All-America Program, which honors outstanding student athletes across eight NCAA Division II sports.

Joining Corby on the All-America First Team is senior defender Katy Woolley, whose stout defense and leadership kept the Laker backline as one of the best in the nation all season long.  Two other semifinalists, runner up Columbus State and Bridgeport, also had two First Team honorees.

Bringing home Second Team honors were forward Kendra Stauffer, midfielder Katie Klunder and defender Clare Carlson. Stauffer finished second on the team behind Corby in goals and assists, with 15 and 11, respectively. Klunder finished her stellar career as a Laker having appeared in 101 career matches for the blue and white, including 25 this season, finishing with eight goals and nine assists. Carlson started 19 games for the Lakers on defense, and was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the year for her efforts this season.

The lone Third Team honoree for the Lakers was freshman goalkeeper Emily Maresh, who capped off her debut campaign as a national champion by posting a 19-1-1 record in goal, allowing just 10 goals all season and saving 87 percent of shots faced.

Named as an Honorable Mention, sophomore forward Gabriella Mencotti was the seventh Laker honored. Mencotti was a force on offense this season, narrowly missing double digit goals (10) and assists (9) while starting 24 games for Grand Valley.
