DU's Kreiger and Corstange and FSU's Maat named GLIAC volleyball players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following week six of the 2022 volleyball season. Davenport graduate outside hitter Hayley Kreiger was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, while teammate Kenzy Corstange earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. Ferris State sophomore setter Kaylee Maat received GLIAC Setter of the Week accolades. 


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Hayley Kreiger, Davenport

Hayley Kreiger broke her own school record for kills in a three-set match for the second time this season with 25 at SVSU on Saturday. She averaged just under six kills per set in a pair of wins while hitting nearly .300 as Davenport ran its winning streak to six matches. The player of the week honor is Kreiger's fourth of her career and second of the 2022 season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Kenzy Corstange, Davenport

Kenzy Corstange averaged 6.5 digs per set in a pair of wins with 39 total digs for the week as Davenport ran its winning streak to six matches. She also became the ninth player in program history to reach 1,000 digs for her career. The player of the week honor is the Corstange's second this fall. 


SETTER OF THE WEEK - Kaylee Maat, Ferris State

Ferris State University sophomore setter Kaylee Maat led the Bulldogs to a big weekend home sweep in GLIAC action as FSU topped both Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech 3-1 to move back into sole possession of first place in the league standings. Maat averaged 12.63 assists per set, totaling 101 assists in the two matches while adding 25 total digs, six blocks and three kills. She had 55 assists with 16 digs in Friday?s win over NMU, which had entered the contest tied with the Bulldogs atop the league, and added 46 assists and nine digs with five blocks against Michigan Tech on Saturday as FSU moved to 8-1 in conference play.
