Michigan Tech's Moxley, Ashland's Snyder Selected GLIAC Player of the Week

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly women's basketball awards after competition on the second week of February. Michigan Tech senior center Kyle Moxley captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland sophomore center Laina Snyder collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades for the fourth time this season.

Highlights: Michigan Tech senior Kylie Moxley averaged 27 points and six rebounds while leading Michigan Tech to a pair of victories over Northwood and Lake Superior State. The 6-0 post player notched a career-high 34 points with a school-record 15 field goals (on 22 attempts) in the 69-60 win over Northwood. She back it up with a 20-point effort in just 25 minutes of action during a 78-52 triumph over LSSU. Moxley shot 23-of-33 from the field including 3-of-5 from 3-point range on the week.

South Division
Laina Snyder Ashland Center So.

Highlights: In road wins last week against Ohio Dominican and Tiffin, Ashland sophomore center Laina Snyder posted 49 points, 22 rebounds, three assists, a block and five steals, while going 19-for-37 from the field (51.4 percent) and 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Her 25 points at the Dragons and 24 at the Panthers were her two highest scoring outputs of the season. Snyder’s 25 points at Tiffin also were the second-most of her AU career, trailing only her 33 points in the 2015 GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal at home against Northwood on March 4, 2015. Snyder averaged 24.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest last week.
