GVSU's Dawson, Ashland's Daugherty Capture GLIAC Awards

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly women's basketball awards following the third week of the regular season. Grand Valley State junior forward Kayla Dawson captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland sophomore forward Andi Daugherty collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades for the second straight week.

North Division

Highlights: Dawson scored 17 points in Wednesday's 71-63 upset of No. 2 Lewis University before leading the team with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting in a tough road win at Gannon University on Saturday to go along with six rebounds. For the week, Dawson averaged 18.5 points on 54.2 percent shooting to go with 5.5 rebounds for the 4-1 Lakers.

South Division
Andi Daugherty Ashland Forward So.

Highlights: Daugherty posted a career-high 25 points and added 12 rebounds for her first double-double of 2015-16 for the No. 13 Eagles in 74-57 win at Indianapolis. Daugherty went 10-for-15 (66.7 percent) from field, and a perfect 4-for-4 from free-throw line to notch her 10th career double-double in 38 career games for the 4-0 Ashland squad.
