BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly women's basketball awards after the first week of divisional play. Saginaw Valley junior forward Emily Wendling captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Tiffin junior center Bre Nauman collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.

Highlights: Junior forward Emily Wendling had a big weekend in leading SVSU to a pair of victories, running the team's win streak to seven games as the team moved into sole possession of first place in the GLIAC North Division. She went for 20 points and 12 rebounds, adding two blocks and a steal in the Lady Cardinals' 62-45 win over LSSU Thursday night before adding 17 points and a pair of boards in Saginaw Valley's 76-71 victory Saturday over Northwood. Saginaw Valley's seven game win streak is the longest win streak since the 1998-99 season, when the program rattled-off 10 in a row. |

Highlights: Junior center Bre Nauman had a strong week as she averaged 23.5 ppg along with 11 rebounds per game as Tiffin downed Findlay 69-66 and fell in a close 72-69 score at Wayne State. She had 28 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Findlay, hitting the game winning shot with seven seconds remaining. Her 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Warriors gave her two double-doubles for the week. She was also a perfect 15-for-15 from the line and had 1.5 blocks per game. |
