GVSU's Corby, Carlson Collect NSCAA All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY -- Grand Valley State's junior midfielder Marti Corby and junior defender Clare Carlson have been selected to the 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II Women's All-America First Team. The Lakers are on the verge of their third consecutive national championship with the title match taking place on Saturday (Dec. 5) vs. Columbus State in Pensacola. 

Corby, now a three-time All-American, is the current GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year with 24 goals and 16 assists on the season, leading the team in both categories as a junior. Carlson, voted GLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, is an everyday starter on a GVSU backline that allowed just 11 goals on the season, posted 16 shutouts and is fourth in the nation in goals against average with a .388 goals allowed per game.
