GLIAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 7

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after the third week of October. Grand Valley State junior forward Kendra Stauffer earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Northwood senior goalkeeper Julie Shields claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Highlights: Stauffer exploded for 13 points in two weekend matches, scoring a goal and adding two assists in the 7-0 win against Michigan Tech before scoring four goals in a 20-minute span in the 7-0 victory against Northern Michigan and assisting on another goal for the No. 4 Lakers. 

Defense
Julie Shields Northwood Goalkeeper Sr.
Highlights: Shields picked up two shutouts in a pair of 1-0 Northwood wins last week. She made seven saves in the Timberwolves' win over Findlay on Friday before making two saves in another 1-0 win over Tiffin on Sunday. Shields ranks third in the GLIAC in goals-against (1.03) and fifth in save percentage (.815).
