Three GLIAC Women's Soccer Programs Earn NSCAA Sportsmanship Awards

NSCAA -- Three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's soccer teams earned the high distinction of being named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award winners list. Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan and Northwood all claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards.

In all, 125 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
