UIndy's Hardoy and King earn Week 4 women's lacrosse honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the Week 4 GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2019 season. Indianapolis sophomore Lauryn Hardoy was named Offensive Player of the Week, while UIndy freshman Cassidy King was named Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lauryn Hardoy - Indianapolis

Sophomore attacker Lauryn Hardoy (Granite Bay, Cal.) registered 11 points in a 21-1 victory over Davenport and 13-7 win over No. 22 Grand Valley State. She scored eight times over the weekend, including a five-goal performance against Lakers on Sunday. Hardoy also handed out three assists, as well as securing the first draw control of her career. She has a team-leading 28 goals.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Cassidy King - Indianapolis

Cassidy King (Canandaigua, N.Y.) her second straight weekly honor after stopping 19-of-27 shots in two league wins over the weekend. On Friday, the rookie netminder made five saves on six shots, while also grabbing two ground balls and causing one turnover. She followed that up with 14 saves against No. 22 Grand Valley State, allowing just seven goals to finish the weekend with a stout 70.1 save percentage. King helped the No. 12 Hounds improve to 8-1.
