2018 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament Begins Friday in Midland; Grand Valley State & Northwood Share Title

2018 GLIAC WOMEN'S TENNIS TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

GLIAC -- Northwood University and Grand Valley State University shared the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular season championship after the Lakers defeated the Timberwolves, 6-1, on Sunday in the season finale. Both squads finished the season 8-1 and will represent the top two teams in next weekend's conference tournament with GVSU earning the No. 1 overall seed via the head-to-head win.

The 2018 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament will be hosted at the Greater Midland Tennis Center beginning Friday, October 26th with quarterfinal action taking place at 6:45 PM. GVSU will face No. 8 seed Ashland in the first round. The winner of that contest will battle the winner of No. 4 Wayne State versus No. 5 Ferris State. No. 2 seed Northwood faces off with No. 7 Saginaw Valley, while No. 3 Michigan Tech goes toe-to-toe with No. 6 Lake Superior State. 

The double-elimination format will continue with semifinal rounds beginning Saturday at 3:45 PM with the final round commencing at 8:15 AM Sunday morning.
