GLIAC Swimming & Diving Athletes of the Week - Week 1

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the first GLIAC Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week awards. Findlay sophomore Janko Radmanovic earned GLIAC Male Athlete of the Week honors on the men's side, while Northern Michigan senior Molly Kearney claimed GLIAC Female Athlete of the Week accolades.

Highlights: Radmanovic started his season with a bang by winning five events at Northern Michigan on Oct. 2-3. Radmanovic won the 100-yard butterfly on both days, posting a time of 51.35 on Oct. 2 and 52.31 on Oct. 3. He also set pool records with first place finishes in the 50-yard butterfly (22.82) and 200-yard butterfly (1:52.69) while winning gold in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.95. The Belgrade, Serbia native was also second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.70) and teamed with Diego Santos and Todo Djurovic and Ben Mayer to take the silver in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.09).

Highlights: Kearney qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in both the 1- and 3-meter dives in the team's first official meet of the season. She started the weekend Friday by posting a score of 261.15 in the 1-meter dive and followed that up with a 247.80 in the 3-meter. She returned to the pool Saturday morning and outdid herself, recording a 267.20 in the 1-meter dive and a 275.20 in the 3-meter. She won each dive at both meets.
