BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the twelfth GLIAC Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week awards of the 2015-16 season. Max Buxton, a freshman from Saginaw Valley earned GLIAC Male Athlete of the Week honors, while Grand Valley State sophomore Sam Postmus claimed GLIAC Female Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time this season and fourth in her young career.

Highlights: SVSU freshman diver Max Buxton won both the 1 and 3 meter diving events against Malone on January 23rd. Buxton scored a team record and personal best 307.73 in the 3 meter event to achieve the qualifying score to compete in the NCAA Championships Dive-In meet on March 8th. Max is now qualified in both the 1 and 3 meter events.

Highlights: Sophomore Sam Postmus set the GVSU pool record in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.37, bettering the previous mark of 1:53.76. Postmus then added another pool record to her afternoon in the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.09, bettering the previous mark of 2:07.04. Postmus added another win in the 100 free, touching in 54.19 as the Lakers defeated Findlay 208-81.
