GLIAC Swimming Athletes of the Week - Week 11

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the eleventh GLIAC Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week awards of the 2015-16 season. Rasmus Olsen, a freshman from Wayne State earned GLIAC Male Athlete of the Week honors, while Ashland senior Kaylyn Murphy claimed GLIAC Female Athlete of the Week accolades for the second-consecutive week.

Highlights: Wayne State University men’s swimmer Rasmus Olsen led the Warriors to a, 166-111, victory over Findlay last Saturday.  The freshman won the 100 fly with a mark of 49.47 and earned another first-place finish in the free (47.24).  Olsen swam the third leg in the 200 medley relay (22.15) to help WSU finish first in the event with a time of 1:33.11.

Highlights: Ashland senior Kaylyn Murphy continued her hot streak on her way to earning GLIAC female athlete of the week honors for the second straight week. She took home first-place finishes in three events - the 50 free (24.64), 100 free (53.62) and the 200 free (1:56.49).
