GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards after week 10 of the 2022 women's soccer season. Saginaw Valley State junior midfielder Sarah Fredrick received GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades while Northern Michigan senior goalkeeper Shenae Kreps earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sarah Fredrick, Saginaw Valley State
The Saginaw Valley State University women’s soccer team closed the 2022 regular season with a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup against Ferris State University on Friday at Braddock Field. The Cardinals scored three goals in the first half and held on for a 3-1 win. The victory sends SVSU to the GLIAC Postseason Tournament with a record of 10-5-3 overall and 8-4-2 in the GLIAC. Sarah Fredrick picked a perfect time for her first goal of the season to put the Cardinals ahead early. She added her first assist of the season later in the first half to help SVSU pull away for the win. For her efforts, Fredrick has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season.
