GLIAC -- Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan and Ferris State have received bids to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship, the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Committee revealed during the selection show on Monday evening.

Grand Valley State (15-2-4) was selected as the NCAA Division II Midwest Region No. 1 seed. The fifth-ranked Lakers receive a first-round bye and will host the winner of the No. 4 Maryville-No.5 Northern Michigan contest Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.

GVSU won its 17th GLIAC regular season championship and captured the program's 15th GLIAC Tournament championship in head coach Katie Hultin's first year.

Northern Michigan enters the NCAA postseason with a 13-3-5 record and coming off a hard-fought loss to Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Tournament championship.

The Wildcats will square off with Maryville (11-2-6) in the first round on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Laker Soccer Field.

Ferris State is the sixth-seed and will travel to take on No. 3 Ashland (15-3-2) on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. at Cedarville. Should the Bulldogs advance, they will play the winner of the No. 2 Cedarville-No. 7 McKendree matchup on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m.

The Bulldogs are making the program's third appearance in the NCAA postseason and second-straight after earning the GLIAC's automatic qualifier by winning the conference tournament a year ago. It marks the first time in school history in which FSU has advanced to the national tournament in back-to-back seasons as the school's first and only previous berth prior to the last two years came in 2018.
