Ferris State captured its ninth conference title today after a 41-17 victory over Davenport after a perfect 8-0 league record to claim the 2018 GLIAC Football Championship. FSU quarterback Jayru Campbell rushed for 145 yards and a pair of scores and passed for 142 yards and two more touchdowns in the win.

Saginaw Valley was victorious over Northwood on the road Saturday in one of the NCAA Division II Showcase Games of the Week thanks to a big-time special teams performance. The Cardinals registered a pair of blocked punts returned for touchdowns by Josh Schelke and Bryce Anderson. SVSU finished the game with an impressive 21-play, 12:02 drive that went 82 yards.

Northern Michigan picked up its first conference win of the year on the road at Wayne State. In what seemed like a defensive battle, No. 9 Grand Valley State overcame 410 yards of offense from the Ashland Eagles to pull out the 20-17 victory. J.J. McGrath connected on the game-winning field goal with 15 seconds left in the contest to send the Laker fans home happy on a chilly night in Allendale.
