FSU's Hankins, Findlay's Kimbrough Earn GLIAC Player of the Week Honors for Second Consecutive Week

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly men's basketball awards following the final night of the 2016-17 GLIAC regular season. Ferris State sophomore Zach Hankins earned GLIAC Men's Basketball North Division honors for the fourth time this year, while Findlay junior guard Martyce Kimbrough captured South Division accolades for the third time this season.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Zach Hankins, Ferris State

Ferris State sophomore center Zach Hankins had another big night as the GLIAC Champion Bulldogs wrapped up league regular-season play with a convincing 77-59 home win over archrival Grand Valley State on Thursday night. The 6-10 Hankins was one of six FSU players to reach double-figures with 10 points and added a game-high 16 rebounds, six blocked shots, two assists and a steal in an all-around performance. He shot 50% from the floor in the triumph as FSU improved to 24-4 on the year and closed league play with a school all-time best 18 conference wins this year.


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Martyce Kimbrough, Findlay

Findlay junior guard Martyce Kimbrough hit the game-winning three pointer at the buzzer in overtime to beat Walsh 88-85. Kimbrough scored 28 points in the win over Walsh on 12-of-23 shooting and eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in his career at UF with the triple. The Lima, Ohio native has now scored 1,001 career points at Findlay in only 55 games.
