GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its 10th weekly awards for the swimming and diving season. Northern Michigan junior Arnoldo Herrera earned GLIAC Male Athlete of the Week accolades, while Wayne State redshirt freshman Hannah Davenport captured GLIAC Female Athlete of the Week honors.
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Arnoldo Herrera, Northern Michigan
Northern Michigan junior Arnoldo Herrera captured two first place finishes in Saturday’s meet with Division I opponent University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In the 100-yard breaststroke, he timed in at 57.52 and posted a winning time of 2:06.10 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Hannah Davenport, Wayne State
Wayne State redshirt freshman Hannah Davenport was victorious in the 1650 free with a time of 17:26.47 in last Friday's meet vs. Saginaw Valley State. Her time was an NCAA "B" cut.
