FSU's Vander Meer Selected AVCA Player of the Week

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Ferris State University senior outside hitter Megan Vander Meer has been named Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division II National Player of the Week. The Bulldogs are coming off a tremendous performance in Denver where they captured the Colorado Premier Challenge Championship.

Vander Meer earned All-Tournament honors while leading her to a perfect 4-0 mark in the tournament to remain unbeaten to start the 2015 season. Vander Meer recorded 18 kills against Missour S&T and No. 4 D-II power Concordia-St. Paul in the clincher.

This marks the second in program history a Ferris State student-athlete has garnered this award, the last time being in 1996.

The GLIAC Volleyball conference schedule begins this Friday when the Bulldogs play host to unbeaten Saginaw Valley State.
