GLIAC Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 8

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly volleyball awards following Week 8. Ferris State senior outside hitter Megan Vander Meer captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland junior outside hitter Casey Clark collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.

Highlights: In six weekend sets, Vander Meer led the Bulldogs by averaging 4.5 points per set with 24 kills, 18 digs, two aces and two blocks. She averaged 4.00 kills and 3.00 digs per set while hitting an impressive .537 overall for the weekend. She posted a match-best 16 kills with 12 digs to go with a .583 attack percentage in Friday's decisive win over Findlay before coming back with eight kills and six digs in Saturday's sweep of Hillsdale. The Bulldogs remained unbeaten at home this year and stretched their home court win streak to 20-straight contests by beating the top two teams in the GLIAC South Division in Findlay & Hillsdale by identical 3-0 sweeps.

Highlights: Clark recorded a season-high 23 digs at in five-set victory on the road at Wayne State, including a .480 season-best hitting percentage. In two matches, Clark averaged 2.10 kills and 4.10 digs per set to with a .246 hitting percentage as the Eagles earned two hard fought five set wins over Wayne State and Saginaw Valley. Clark posted her ninth double-double of the year against WSU.
