Northwood's Nurenberg, Ashland's Snyder Collect GLIAC Awards

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced weekly women's basketball awards following the second week of the GLIAC schedule. Northwood junior forward Jordyn Nurenberg captured GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors, while Ashland sophomore center Laina Snyder collected GLIAC South Division Player of the Week accolades.

North Division

Highlights: Nurenberg averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of road GLIAC games last week. She shot 57.1 from the floor and 80 percent from the foul line for the Timberwolves. Nurenberg also had 20 points and three steals at Walsh. She then had 21 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a road win at Malone. She currently ranks third in the league in scoring, second in rebounding and second in blocked shots.

South Division

Highlights: In home wins on Wednesday (Dec. 9) against Hillsdale and Saturday (Dec. 12) against Saginaw Valley State, Snyder totaled 30 points, 21 rebounds, 11 steals, four blocks and five assists. She now has 608 points, 369 rebounds and 18 double-doubles in her 42 games as an Eagle. Snyder ranks in a tie for sixth in Division II in steals with 30, and in the conference, she is fifth in points per game (15.8), fourth in rebounds per game (9.4) and tied for first in steals per game (3.8).
