Ashland Appears at No. 6 in USA TODAY Women's Hoops Poll

ASHLAND, Ohio -- Ashland University's women's basketball team is ranked No. 6 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Top 25 coaches' poll, released on Tuesday (Feb. 23).

The Eagles, 26-1 overall and 20-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, have been ranked in the Top 25 every week in 2015-16, and has been in the Top 10 in eight consecutive polls. This is the 32nd time, not counting preseason, that AU has been ranked in the Top 10 all-time.

Not counting preseason, this is the 46th week AU has been ranked in the Top 25 – 43 of those coming since the start of the 2011-12 season. Ashland also has been in the Top 25 in three of the last four preseason polls, including as the top-ranked team in Division II to begin 2012-13.

Ashland is the only GLIAC team in this week's Top 25 poll.

The Eagles, the No. 1 seed in next week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, will finish the regular season on Thursday (Feb. 25) at 5:30 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium against Lake Erie on Senior Night.
