GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) revealed the bracket for the 2024 women's basketball tournament Saturday, following the conclusion of the regular season.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 6 with four quarterfinal games at campus sites.
Three-time reigning GLIAC regular season champion Grand Valley State (26-2, 17-1 GLIAC), the nation's No. 2-ranked team, is the No. 1 seed for the tournament. The Lakers will host No. 8 seed Purdue Northwest (11-17, 6-12 GLIAC) at 6 p.m. in Allendale.
Second-seeded Ferris State (21-4, 15-3 GLIAC) will welcome No. 7 Saginaw Valley State (10-18, 7-11 GLIAC) to Big Rapids for a 5:30 p.m. opening round contest. The Bulldogs enter the postseason ranked No. 13 in Division II.
Northern Michigan (19-8, 13-5 GLIAC), the tournament's No. 3 seed, will begin postseason play at home in Marquette against No. 6 Wayne State (16-11, 9-9 GLIAC). Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
Michigan Tech (15-11, 11-7 GLIAC), the No. 4 seed, will square off with No. 5 Parkside (15-11, 10-8 GLIAC) at 6 p.m. at SDC Gymnasium in Houghton. The Huskies and the Rangers split their regular season meetings
The highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals will host the semifinals and the championship games on March 9 and 10, respectively.
