FSU's Idoni selected for GLIAC women's basketball player of the week honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Ferris State senior forward Chloe Idoni has received GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following Week 6 of the 2023-24 women's basketball season.

OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chloe Idoni, Ferris State

Ferris State University senior standout Chloe Idoni had a huge game on Saturday (Dec. 16) as the nation's 10th-ranked Bulldogs upset nationally top-ranked Ashland by a 66-62 count on the road at AU's Kates Gymnasium in Ohio. Idoni finished with a game-high 29 points while adding a squad-best six rebounds, four assists and three steals in 35 minutes, helping FSU snap the Eagles' 45-game winning streak. The Bulldog veteran went 11-of-18 from the floor and made all six of her three throws. She came up big in the fourth quarter, scoring 13 points in the final 6:40 as FSU rallied from a nine-point second half deficit against the defending national champions. The victory snapped an 11-game series' losing streak to the Eagles dating back to 2014 and also snapped Ashland's 22-game home court winning streak.
