Parkside's Sanicki and GVSU's Miron are named golfers of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly men's and women's golf awards. Wisconsin Parkside junior Danny Sanicki and Grand Valley State freshman Megan Miron have received this week's honors.


MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Danny Sanicki - Wisconsin Parkside

Junior Danny Sanicki (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) finished in a tie for first place individually after shooting an even-par 72 in round one and a 1-under 71 in round two at The Brutes Course at Grand Geneva Resort. He had five birdies in round two, while the rest of his team combined for two that day. The Menomonee Falls, Wis., native led Parkside to its first win under second year head coach Tyler Wollberg after shooting a two-day total of 591, edging out Luther College by four shots.
 

WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Megan Miron - Grand Valley State

Megan Miron (Binbrook, Ontario, Canada) led the Lakers tied for fifth carding seven-over par (223). Miron shot one-over par during the third round of the William Beall Fall Classic and made two birdies to go from starting the day in 10th to finishing in fifth. Miron was consistent throughout the event posting 75 in both rounds of golf on the first day 150 (+6), and 73 (+1) in her third and final round of golf on day two.
