Ferris State Improves to No. 5 in Latest AVCA Volleyball Rankings; Tech 25th

AVCA -- Ferris State and Michigan Tech are the lone Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) programs ranked inside this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. Ferris State (16-3, 11-0 GLIAC) improved to No. 5 up one spot from last week as the Bulldogs have won 11 straight. Michigan Tech (16-3, 10-1 GLIAC) is ranked No. 25 for the second straight week.

Ashland (16-4, 9-2 GLIAC) is outside the Top 25 rankings in the other receiving votes category. AU has lost just twice in its last 11 contests with both matches being five-set defeats to Ferris State and Michigan Tech. A pair of Top 25 matchups will take place this weekend at the 2018 Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover in Indianapolis. On Saturday, No. 25 Michigan Tech faces No. 10 Rockhurst, while No. 5 Ferris State will battle No. 12 Drury.
