Northern Michigan's Monsma, Ashland's Peck Capture GLIAC Volleyball Weekly Accolades

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the eighth weekend of the 2018 volleyball season. Northern Michigan senior outside hitter Autumn Monsma earned GLIAC Volleyball North Division honors, while Ashland freshman setter Zoey Peck captured South Division accolades.


NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Autumn Monsma - Northern Michigan

Northern Michigan senior outside hitter Autumn Monsma was named to the All-Tournament Team after leading NMU to three victories at the Midwest Region Conference Crossover. Monsma led the team with 45 kills, hitting at a .318 clip and averaged 4.09 kills per set. The senior also was second on the team with 28 digs and chipped in with seven blocks over the weekend. 


SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Zoey Peck - Ashland

Ashland freshman setter Zoey Peck was named to the 2018 Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament team, helping the Eagles to a 2-1 record and a .222 hitting percentage. She was third at the event with 12.46 assists per set and finished with 162 assists overall as Ashland fell to Illinois Springfield (3-1), but came back to beat McKendree (3-2) and Hillsdale (3-1). Peck posted a career-high 60 assists against McKendree, and had two double-doubles, averaging 2.62 digs per set.
