Ferris State senior quarterback Jason Vander Laan set an NCAA record for career rushing yards (5,953) by a quarterback this season at Ferris State. Vander Laan captured his second straight Harlon Hill Trophy on Friday, given to the nation's top Division II player. Vander Laan won the Harlon Hill last season. He is the fourth player to win the Harlon Hill more than once, and the first since Danny Woodhead of Chadron State did it in 2006 and '07. Ferris State's Jason Vander Laan is the first-team quarterback on The Associated Press Little All-America team for the second straight season.

Grand Valley State senior defensive end Matt Judon, the 2015 Gene Upshaw Award winner, the D2CCA Ron Lenz Defensive Player of the Year and the GLIAC Defensive Lineman of the Year, was an AP First-Team All-American, while senior offensive guard Jim Walsh was named to the second-team and junior linebacker Marquez Gollman was a third-team honoree.

GVSU, Colorado State-Pueblo, Northwest Missouri State and Minnesota State-Mankator were the only schools with three representatives on the team.

Judon turned in a record-setting season for the Lakers, leading all of college football, regardless of division, in QB sacks with 20 (-127). In addition, Judon set a GVSU single-season record for QB sacks (20), tackles for loss with 23.5 (-134) and his 81 total tackles was a GVSU single-season record for a defensive lineman. Judon tallied a TFL in 10 games and QB sack nine games during the 2015 campaign. Judon finished his career as the all-time leader in career QB sacks at GVSU with 34 and sixth in TFL (51.5), while recording 204 tackles, 11 pass deflections and eight forced fumbles.

Gollman, a 2015 CCA Super Region 4 First-Team honoree and a First-Team All-GLIAC performer, ranked second on the squad in total tackles with 117, the ninth-best, single-season total in GVSU football history. Gollman notched 8.5 tackles for loss (-28), two QB sacks (-10), picked off three passes, one of which he returned for a TD and returned a fumble for a TD.

Walsh was a key figure in a Laker offense that averaged 38.4 points, 457.5 yards of total offense, 285.5 passing yards and 171.9 rushing yards per game. The GVSU offensive line yielded just 23 QB sacks on 489 passing attempts in 2015. A three-time All-GLIAC honoree, Walsh played in 52 career games, including a starting role in his final 41 contests.

Findlay's Chris Reaper, who was tabbed the 2015 GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year, helped pave the way for the Oilers to average 477.5 yards per game in 2015, the third best mark in the GLIAC and the 18th best total in all of NCAA Division II football at the end of the regular season. His pass blocking efforts enabled the team to establish a new school record for passing yards in a season (3,350) which earned him second team accolades.

Ohio Dominican's Brent Wahle landed on the third team after he made 17 field goals this season en route to setting the GLIAC career record for field goals made and for most points scored by a kicker. He hit a season long of 53 yards against Tiffin, which tied his own school record for longest kick, and also made a 52 yarder against Walsh and a 50 yarder at Saginaw Valley.
