ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Grand Valley State senior offensive lineman Brandon Revenberg (Essex, Ont.) was selected as the third overall pick in the 2016 Canadian Football League draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Wednesday night (May 10). The Tiger-Cats originally had the fifth pick in the draft, but moved up to select Revenberg with the third selection. Revenberg joins former Laker great Josh Bourke who was selected in the third round as the 21st pick in the 2004 Canadian Football League draft by the Montreal Alouettes. Bourke is a two-time recipient (2011 and 2012) of the Leo Dandurant Trophy awarded to the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in the Canadian Football League in the East Division.

Revenberg was a two-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) selection (2014-2015) for the Lakers. Brandon is one of the most versatile offensive lineman in Laker football history, evidenced by his starting at every offensive line position for GVSU during his career. A four-time GLIAC All-Academic selection, Revenberg played in 48 career games during his career. Revenberg was a key figure in the Lakers' run to the 2013 and 2015 advancement to the NCAA DII Semifinals. GVSU won 38 games during his career.

Brandon prepped at Essex District High School in Ontatio, Canada.
