WSU's Golson Jr. and GVSU's Docks honored as GLIAC men's basketball players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Wayne State junior forward Colin Golson Jr. has been named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Grand Valley State sophomore guard Mason Docks earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following Week 15 of the 2023-24 men's basketball season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Colin Golson Jr., Wayne State

Colin Golson Jr. (Detroit, Mich.) was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday. The honor comes after Golson averaged a double-double with 20 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in a pair of much-needed Wayne State victories. He then followed that up with a game high and personal-best 27 points and 13 rebounds (tied career high) in the 84-80 victory against league-leading Northern Michigan on Saturday. In that win over the Wildcats, Golson went 10-of-14 from the field and 7-for-8 at the free throw line.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mason Docks, Grand Valley State

Mason Docks has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. Docks grabbed a career high seven rebounds in the win over Ferris State including three offensive rebounds. He swiped two steals in both wins against Ferris State and Lake Superior State.
