FSU's Erickson and Scholler named GLIAC men's basketball players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced that Ferris State junior guard Ethan Erickson has been recognized as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Ferris State junior guard Jimmy Scholler was selected as GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week following Week 6 of the 2023-24 men's basketball season. 


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ethan Erickson, Ferris State

Ferris State University junior guard Ethan Erickson led the way for the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs as FSU topped #16 Ashland in a 98-83 regional win on Sunday (Dec. 17) at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. Erickson went six-of-12 (50%) from three-point range and finished with a team-high 19 points in the win while adding three assists, a steal and a rebound in 20 minutes of work. His outside shooting touch broke the game open for the Bulldogs, who improved to 8-2 overall with the big regional home win over an AU team that had only a single loss this year.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jimmy Scholler, Ferris State

Ferris State University junior Jimmy Scholler played a big defensive role as the nation's 23rd-ranked Bulldogs beat #16 Ashland by a 98-83 score on Sunday (Dec. 17) at FSU's Jim Wink Arena. In Ferris State's lone action of the week, Scholler finished with a team-high six rebounds and came up with a game-high four steals in the triumph. He also dished out six assists and tallied four points in 22 minutes of action as FSU improved to 8-2 overall with the big regional home win.
