Parkside's Novakovich and SVSU's Adamson named GLIAC men's soccer players of the week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 9 of the 2021 men's soccer season. Wisconsin Parkside redshirt junior forward Rade Novakovich was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week while Saginaw Valley State freshman defender Benjamin Adamson claimed the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rade Novakovich - Wisconsin Parkside

Redshirt junior forward Rade Novakovich (Muskego, Wis.) earned his third career hat trick against UIU on Friday, then came back and got an insurance goal in the 3-0 win over SCSU.


DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Benjamin Adamson - Saginaw Valley State

Freshman defender Benjamin Adamson (Hull, England) played a crucial role in the Cardinals earning a 1-1 tie against Davenport and a 0-0 result against Purdue Northwest. For his efforts, Adamson has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Adamson has two goals and two assists for the Cardinals this season and has played a large part in the team closing out six shutouts.
