Eight Selected to AVCA All-Midwest Region Team; Pair of Bulldogs Earn Major Awards

Eight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) volleyball student-athletes have been selected to the 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II All-Midwest Region Team. Also, Ferris State head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm was named 2016 AVCA Division II Midwest Region Coach of the Year for the second straight year, while Ferris State's Allyson Cappel earned Region Freshman of the Year accolades.

Brandel-Wilhelm is in her 21st year with the Bulldogs…Earned the top seed in the Midwest Region and will host for the second straight year…Won their third consecutive GLIAC Tournament Championship and is making their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance…Senior setter Stephanie Sikorski was named conference player of the year…Enter the NCAA Tournament riding a 24-match winning streak…Ranked in every AVCA Coaches Poll this season…This season marks her second AVCA Region Coach of the Year award (2015).
