GLIAC Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 6

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the sixth week of the 2016 season. Grand Valley State freshman right side Jayci Suseland earned GLIAC Volleyball North Division honors, while Ohio Dominican senior outside hitter Tory Thompson captured South Division accolades.

NORTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Jayci Suseland, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State freshman right side Jayci Suseland recorded 39 kills and 12 total blocks as the Lakers earned a pair of 3-1 home victories. In four-set wins over Tiffin and Ashland, Suseland hit .316 and averaged 4.88 kills, 1.50 blocks, and 5.8 points per set. She hit .630 and posted a career-high 20 kills in 27 attacks against Tiffin, while adding five blocks. Suseland followed with 19 kills and seven total rejections in the win over Ashland on Saturday. In GLIAC matches this season, Suseland ranks third in both kills (3.97) and points (4.5) per set.

SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Tory Thompson, Ohio Dominican

Ohio Dominican senior outside hitter Tory Thompson averaged an absurd 6.75 kills per set and hit .234 in the process. She chipped in 17 digs in the match as well. Thompson also recorded 18 kills while hitting .271 in a 3-0 sweep of Lake Superior State.
