Four Volleyball Programs Earn NCAA Bids; Ferris State Hosts Midwest Regional

2016 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Tournament Bracket

NCAA - The 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Tournament field is set and four Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams will once again travel to Big Rapids on the campus of top-seeded Ferris State University for the NCAA Midwest Regional with action beginning on Thursday, December 1st.

Ferris State will host the weekend festivities as the top seed and will face No. 8 seeded Truman State who earned the automatic bid from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) after capturing their conference tournament title. Findlay is the No. 2 seed and will face-off against Cedarville, the lone representative from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

Saginaw Valley State enters the regional as the No. 5 seed and will matchup against No. 4 seed Rockhurst, while No. 6 Ashland is the final GLIAC representative and will battle No. 3 Lewis in the first round.

Here are the opening round of match-ups for the Midwest Regional Tournament, to be played next Thursday (Dec. 1) in Big Rapids.

Match 1 (Noon): #2 Findlay vs. #7 Cedarville
Match 2 (2:30 PM): #3 Lewis vs. #6 Ashland
Match 3 (5:00 PM): #1 Ferris State vs. #8 Truman State
Match 4 (7:30 PM): #4 Rockhurst vs. #5 Saginaw Valley State

Friday, Dec 2 - Semifinal Matches:
5 p.m. - Winner Match #1 vs. Winner Match #2
7:30 p.m. - Winner Match #3 vs. Winner Match #4

Saturday's (Dec. 3) championship is set for a 4:00 p.m. start.
