AU's Sittinger, WU's Stalnaker & TU's Hueneburg Collect GLIAC Baseball Weekly Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its seventh weekly baseball awards for the 2016 season. In the South Division, Ashland junior Brandyn Sittinger garnered GLIAC Pitcher of the Week awards, while Walsh junior Andrew Stalnaker and Tiffin senior Nick Hueneburg have been named Co-GLIAC Players of the Week. Due to inclement weather resulting in only a few games played last week, there will be no GLIAC North selections this week.

Pitcher of the Week - South Division
Brandyn Sittinger Ashland Pitcher Jr.

Highlights: On Friday at Tiffin, Sittinger recorded a career-high 14 strikeouts during a complete-game six-hitter in a 4-1 Eagles victory. Sittinger is tied for the GLIAC lead in wins in 2016 with five, and leads the conference with 64 strikeouts.

Co-Players of the Week - South Division
Andrew Stalnaker Walsh Infielder Jr.
Highlights: Stalnaker had a monster day in Walsh's only two games of the week on Tuesday as the Cavaliers swept Findlay. The first baseman went a combined 4-for-5 with three home runs, scored six of Walsh's 12 combined runs, and tallied five RBI on the day. He also walked twice for an on-base percentage of .857 to go with an astronomical slugging percentage of 2.600.
Nick Hueneburg Tiffin Third Base Sr.
Highlights: Hueneburg kept a hot bat last week, hitting .412 with three home runs and 10 runs batted in. The senior leads the GLIAC with 10 home runs, ranking 26th nationally. Nick is 2nd in the conference in RBI's with 32 and tied for 2nd in extra base hits with 19. Against Hillsdale on April 5, a game which was postponed due to darkness on April 3, Hueneburg finished 2 for 5 with a pair of three run homers. Hueneburg is currently tied for 8th in TU history for career home runs with 15, and his 10 this season rank 6th best in program history. With five more doubles, Nick will move inside the top 10 in career two baggers.
